Discussed the development potential of the learning area

Published: 17 April 2018

The research and innovation project group on Learning recently organized a workshop where employees at the university gathered to discuss the development potential of the learning area and future profiling.

– It was a very successful workshop with amazingly committed participants who generously shared their knowledge, experiences and ideas - it is good for the future, says Eva Alerby, professor and project manager for strategic learning work.

Create a vision and target image

Luleå University of Technology will make a strategic effort focused on Learning in 2018. The task force, led by Eva Alerby, has the task of defining what the university will gather, highlight and profile in the field of learning.

– It is with this in mind that the workshop was organized. We see it as part of the work to develop a vision and target image for the Learning Area.

Developing a strategy for increased external financing

During the workshop, 30 employees participated in smaller groups where issues concerning social challenges, profile issues, strengths and strategies needed for the implementation of research were raised. For Eva Alerby and the others in the project group, it remains to collect all the views for future work.

– Based on the workshop, we will now continue work on developing the area. This means developing strategies for how the university will take a prominent place in the area, which also includes a strategy for increased external funding.
