Flexible traffic solutions

In the sub-project Flexible traffic solutions, LTU and RISE work with innovative solutions with a focus on increased pedestrian, bicycle and public transport. For traffic solutions, the needs can be changed over time, as well as winter and summer conditions.

The following areas are studied:


Flexible traffic surface - an extended part of the roadway is used for bicycle traffic. Physical design and lighting are used to control traffic, focusing on winter conditions.

Bicycle traffic bridge - design of modules for the construction of cycle lanes, in order to facilitate the construction and removal / relocation of a pedestrian and bicycle route.

Sustainable snow removal - using digital technology to create a better basis for maintenance and selection of snow removal vehicles, especially for pedestrian and bicycle paths.

Self-driving vehicle (dormant) - Investigate the possibility of testing self-driving vehicle solution.
