Team Sweden was led by Minister of Enterprise and Innovation Mikael Damberg. Focus on the Innovative air cooperation beyond the Gripen and sustainable mining and forest production. During the visit several workshops/conferences were organized.
– Our visiting program was intensive and based on Luleå University of Technology´s perspective in perfect harmony with our research, education and innovation in the aerospace, mining and forestry area. In the mining area the entire chain from geology and exploration of metallurgy was affected. In the forest area, it is our research in biochemical process technology that was of great interest. Finally, our projects in operation and maintenance, the Gripen partnership was of particular interest, says Örjan Johansson.
Brazil is an important partner to Sweden and the situation is now uniquely favorable for the development of existing cooperation and to establish new relationships. Visit Program, developed by the Government Offices with the support of the Embassy, Growth Analysis and Business Sweden, was structured around three workshops organized in São Paulo, Brasilia and Belo Horizonte. An important prerequisite for the visit is the Swedish-Brazilian strategic partnership and an Additional Protocol innovative high-tech industrial cooperation signed in 2009.
The cooperation takes place through the mutual programutlysningar via Vinnova and its Brazilian counterparts (Science without borders). As part of the foundation for the success of the cooperation are of course the Gripen deal. Taken together, this means that Brazil today ranks Sweden as one of four priority partner in the industrial area (the other three are the US, Germany and South Korea). With this favorable starting position and the Brazilian expectations on Swedish commitments to large-scale industrial cooperation "beyond the Gripen," Sweden has earned an excellent starting point to continued relations with Brazil.
– Team Sweden also means that we create a common structure for delegation visits by various ministers leading out into the world, whether we sell it equipment in Africa or promote sustainable transportation in India., says Mikael Damberg, Minister of Enterprise and Innovation.
Team Sweden included six ministries - Educational, Nutritional, Social, Environmental, Cultural and State Department. Also included are relevant government agencies and organizations as Business Sweden, Swedish Institute, Vinnova, The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, Almi, Growth Analysis, Visit Sweden, The Swedish Export Credit Corporation and the The National Board of Trade.
The annual Innovation Week held between Sweden and Brazil, scheduled for October/November later this year, can be a natural next time when Sweden and Brazil sits down together for talks on "how" collaboration in future could be put together.
