Imagine being able to scrape down the leftovers in a box and charge your mobile phone on it. The ability to utilize energy in food waste and convert to electricity through microorganisms. Microbial fuel cells are a process being studied today. Magnus Sjöblom , researcher at Biomedical Process Engineering at Luleå University of Technology, discusses the technology behind microbial fuel cells and how it can contribute to a more sustainable society .
