The availability of renewable energy at a competitive price and efficient energy systems with a high level of security of supply are important prerequisites for future sustainable growth.Our vision is to work together with industry and stakeholders within society to create an internationally leading research and innovation environment in order to demonstrate a long-term sustainable energy system.

Luleå University of Technology  are recognized as a world leading university in the development of sustainable, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly systems and processes.The resources and experiences at LTU which the area aims to further develop include research within the current fields of activity related to bio-energy/bio-refinery technology, hydropower, wind power and how to make industry and society more energy efficient.The area encompasses both technical and social aspects of the supply and use of energy.
