Opportunities for activity and participation for people with neurological injuries and illnesses

The project encompasses research of a number of groups with different types of neurological and diseases such as spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, MS and post-polio, and the in-depth studies focus on describing aspects of their living conditions and needs. The project also includes instrument development for studying this. The studies focus on:

  • Experienced participation in the life situation and problems with participation
  • The relationship between participation in the life situation and life satisfaction
  • The influence of the environment on opportunities for activity and participation
  • The importance of the rehabilitation process for opportunities for activity and participation and effective mechanisms (success factors) in the rehabilitation process
  • Self-assessment of participation in the life situation (IPA-S)
  • Self-assessment of the importance of environmental factors for activity and participation (CHEIF-S)
