Biking and walking at major roads

The aim is to describe the types of problems that exist and to evaluate easily workable solutions to enhance safe and attractive access for pedestrians and cyclists to and along major roads.



  • Feedback of experience of implementation of measures
  • Studies of international examples
  • Focus group interviews about possible actions
  • Analyses to clarify the current commuting
  • GIS analysis to highlight the potential for pedestrian and bicycle travel to bus stops and bicycle commuting.
  • Interviews of pedestrians and cyclists for accessibility, and visibility problems during the dark season
  • Focus Group Discussions on suggestions for improvements.

Time frame: from 2010 to 2012.
