The fossil-free passenger transport of the future - Workshop Varuträsk

24 Jan. 2022, 19:00 - 20:30
Varuträsk (utanför Skellefteå), Zoom
Published: 25 October 2021

Rural areas, passenger transport and fossil freedom What are your experiences and thoughts?

The workshop is part of the research project "rural fossil-free passenger transport" whose purpose is to contribute to a future sustainable transport system, both for the climate and humans.

Everyone with a close connection to Varuträsk is welcome to exchange thoughts and experiences about passenger transport. It is organized as smaller discussion groups. Your participation will contribute to increased knowledge about the conditions for a future sustainable transport system - both for the climate and the people. Hopefully this will also lead to us succeeding in identifying smart solutions!

We start with a workshop where we discuss the travel needs and challenges that exist today, after the first workshop we invite to a second workshop where we try to identify solutions we can test.

Workshop No. 1:
Using maps, there are three "overarching" issues that will be discussed:

  • What trips do you make today?
  • Why are you making these trips?
  • How can future requirements for fossil freedom affect your travels?

The questions create a basis for understanding the social significance of transport.

Note

The project does not belong to the rolling bus course project.

This is a separate project (doctoral student project) belonging to Luleå University of Technology.
