During my studies of biotechnology in Vienna, Austria I got the great opportunity to do an internship at LTU. From the beginning I was really excited, since Sweden was always a dream destination for me. Since have not had any prior knowledge on the topic of my research field, I gained a lot of experience during my research stay. The project dealt with the production of biofuels from wood hydrolysates with both algae and yeasts. The things I appreciated most was on one hand the intensive supervision by my tutor and on the other hand the lovely atmosphere I came in. The other PhDs let me participate in all their activities and considered me as part of the group, although I did not stay for too long. I still think back of that with a smile on my face.
After my internship, I wrote my master thesis about my research done at LTU and finished my master’s degree in Vienna. Currently, I am doing my PhD at the technical university of Vienna in the field of biochemical engineering. The experience at LTU gave me some good inputs for my current work.
