– I have developed a model that estimates the risk of cracking in the plastic stage of concrete, says Faez Sayahi, researcher in building materials at Luleå University of Technology.
The new project involves companies such as Betongindustri, Skanska, Cementa and Linotol. By, among other things, looking at the structure of the concrete, bleeding and water evaporation, the researchers hope to be able to better predict the risk of plastic shrinkage cracks.
– The benefit with the project is very large. The contractor must be able to choose a concrete that has a lower risk of plastic shrinkage cracks for their projects, says Linotol's Wiktor Holstenson.
In the film, produced by Linotol, Luleå University of Technology's researchers and representatives from the participating companies explain more about how the project.
