Efficient utilization of bio-based materials could help society to convert to a biobased economy and also contribute to reduced energy use, increase the possibilities for further processing of our Swedish forest raw materials, while increasing export opportunities and preserving jobs in the country.

Background to the project

The construction sector is a social sector that accounts for a very large share of both materials and energy utilization in Sweden and the world. The society is also faced with a major challenge as a result of the major housing shortage in Sweden and most of Europe. In addition, the property portfolio has major renovation needs in terms of function and energy requirements.

Efficient utilization of bio-based materials for these purposes could help society to convert to a biobased economy and also contribute to reduced energy use, increase the possibilities for further processing of our Swedish forest raw materials, while increasing export opportunities and preserving jobs in the country.
