Successful 2018 for Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Published: 27 November 2018

2018 has been a very successful year for research group in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Five PhD students defended their thesis and three of them received their doctoral hats during the Academic ceremony.

In January, Sambit Lenka defended his thesis called "Managing the Transformation Towards Advanced Service Provision: A Multilevel Framework of Servitization" and is now working as a senior lecturer at Jönköping International Business School.

Fabio Gama defended his thesis in June entitled "Managing the Collaborative Front End of Innovation in Manufacturing Firms: Requirements, Capabilities and Conditions" and is now working at Halmstad University.

Wiebke Reim defended her thesis with the title "Towards a framework for product-service system business model implementation" in September and now works as a researcher at Luleå University of Technology.

In September, Nerine George also defended her dissertation entitled "Entrepreneurial Opportunity Exploitation for New Venture Performance" and in November, Aija Voitkane defended her dissertation entitled "Under the surface: Revealing how gender imbalance is created in governmental venture capitalists' work processes."

– This year has been excellent for the research subject as we managed so many PhD defenses. Two things stand out concerning the candidates that have completed their PhDs with us this year. First all of them have shown exceptional academic skills by multiple publications in high impact journals like, Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, and others. Second, they have managed to continue on their academic carrier by taking position with us at Luleå University of Technology or other prominent Swedish universities such as Jönköping International Business School and Halmstad University. We wish them all the best of luck for their future academic careers and for them to be ambassadors for the university, says Vinit Parida, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and proud supervisor for four of the PhD students who defended their thesis during the year.
