Coherent metrology

In coherent metrology both the amplitude and the phase of a detected wave are utilised for metrological purposes. Central concepts in this field are imaging, holography and the properties of speckles. The research focus of the group are the development of methods to characterise mechanical properties of matter including shape, structure, strain, flow and pressure where most applications are found within production technology, material science and fluid mechanics.
