A modern high-speed IR camera system financed by the Kempe Foundations has been purchased. The number of pixels are 320x256 and the sensitivity is around 25mK.

It is possible to record full size thermal images at a rate of about 400 images / s. In the figure a setup can be seen for monitoring the temperature on the back side of a metal plate impacted by short light pulses from the Nd:YAG laser.
