The concept for transformative innovation support serves as a guide for innovation promoters to support the realization of social innovations and to increase social sustainability in all sorts of innovations. The aim is to broaden the flow of ideas, increase the diversity of innovators, and contribute to a more sustainable renewal, in order to solve current social challenges, meet global sustainability goals and obtain sustainable growth.
The concept is based on compiled knowledge from national and international research studies and practical models in the fields of innovation promotion, social innovation and social sustainability. It has been developed in collaboration between academia, industry and society as part of a VINNOVA-funded project during 2016-2017. The project was managed by Luleå University of Technology in collaboration with Kontigo, Swedish Incubators & Science Parks (SISP), Swedish Network for Innovation & Technology Transfer Support (SNITTS), Mötesplats Social Innovation (MSI), The Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR), Coompanion Nord , LTU Business, Chalmers University of Technology and Halmstad University.
