At a conference in Skellefteå in the last week, Lindsay Ohlin, PhD in Chemical Technology, won a price of SEK 20 000 for best presentation - chemical separation methods using zeolite.

Lindsay Ohlin´s work to separate carbon dioxide from methane and water with the help of zeolites in order to clean biogas.

Her research involves creating a cleaner, more efficient production, ultra-thin membrane made of zeolite, a microporous, aluminosilicate minerals shown to have superior properties of liquid and gaseous separation. This was true "especially as regards the separation of CO2, says Ohlin, who is a member of the team of LTU Professor Jonas Hedlund, director of the B4E catalysis and separation platform.
