Landscape Ecology

The research in landscape ecology for conducting studies of landscape structure, function and change at different levels and spatial scales.

The levels referred to the hierarchical organization in ecology. This means that research concerning studies of individual populations, ecosystems and / or landscape level. Of particular importance in research is the importance of the surrounding landscape and its change in prevalence and dynamics of various organisms.

Research is conducted in both aquatic as terrestrial systems. The focus in studies of structure and change in the surrounding landscape is various types of land use. Remote sensing (including unmanned aircraft equipped with digital sensors) and geographic information systems (GIS) are important means of disciplines.
