Call for proposals on Sustainable raw materials sector

Non-energy raw materials are essential to the global economy and our quality of life. They are vital for Nordic Economy and for the development of environmentally friendly technologies essential to downstream Nordic industry.

To fully meet future societal needs, metals and mineral products from both primary and secondary resources are required. Advanced research and innovation is essential to improve the Nordic knowledge base along the entire raw materials value chain to improve best available technology and reducing the environmental footprints. Advanced research and innovation is also essential to develop even more social sustainable, acceptable and attractive mining industry and regions.

The call covers all Core Themes in the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda of NordMin; CT1: Exploration, CT2: Mining, CT3 Mineral processing, CT4: Metallurgy, CT5: Mine closure and rehabilitation, CT6: Social sustainable, acceptable and attractive mining industry and regions.

The call period is 18 October to 13 December 2013.

  • Minimum three Nordic countries including Greenland should be involved
  • Industry participation is mandatory
