In 2021 it is 150 years since the Geological Society of Sweden was founded. We will commemorate this by organizing an anniversary meeting to be held in Uppsala 17–19 August 2021.

Our ambition is to organize a meeting that will be of interest to all geoscientist that are active in Sweden or that have an interest in various aspects of Swedish geoscience.
Thus, we ask you to mark the dates in your calendar

The meeting will be held in Uppsala and is arranged by the Society in collaboration with the Department of Earth Sciences at Uppsala University and the Geological Survey of Sweden. Attached you will find a first circular with more information about the meeting.

The board of the Geological Society hopes that this will be a meeting where the Swedish geoscience community convenes and discusses research results, educational issues and the role of the geosciences in the sustainable society of the future. Information about the meeting will be continuously updated on the Society’s website (geologiskaforeningen.se), so plan already now for Uppsala in August next year and make sure to visit our website from time to time. A second circular with more information on registration and abstract submissions is planned at the end of the year.
