– The workshop was very successful. The participants showed great appreciation for both the scientific content with twelve high quality presentations and the exotic winter experience in connection with dinner and activities in the evening, says Associate Professor Jens Hardell who was also the coordinator of the workshop.
– Relatively few research groups in the world are working with high temperature tribology and this is a unique forum where scientists and industry can meet and exchange experiences regarding test methods and simulation tools, share new research findings and network to create new research projects.
Something that received a lot of attention during the workshop was hot forming of steel and cutting.
– Surface coatings to reduce wear and friction at high temperatures is very interesting and both industry and academia are working to develop new types of coatings that withstand these extreme environments, says Jens Hardell.
