The Division of Machine Elements participated in the world's largest conference in tribology, World Tribology Congress 2017, held in Beijing, China.

The Tribologists at Luleå University of Technology held 12 presentations, including Roland Larsson, who gave a keynote presentation, and Pär Marklund and Braham Prakash who were invited speakers.

– This is by far the biggest conference in tribology. To present our latest findings to a large part of the world's research colleagues is very important to make our research visible, says Roland Larsson, Professor of Machine Elements at Luleå University of Technology.

The World Conference in Tribology is organized by the International Council of Tribology, who also held their meeting at the conference. The conference had 1,400 participants from 49 countries. Sweden was the seventh largest country at the conference, in terms of presentations. LTU was among the three largest groups that participated in Europe.
