Machine learning hosts meet-up

Published: 18 January 2019

The Machine Learning group organizes a Machine Learning meet-up on January 22. This is the second event in the Luleå ML meet-up series and this time we are kindly hosted by Luleå University of Technology.

Tentative agenda

  • short introduction by organisers
  • prof. Marcus Liwicki talk about ML research at Luleå Universitu of Technology
  • questions and discussion
  • fika and opportunity to mingle

Marcus Liwicki is a new professor of Machine Learning at Luleå University of Technology. In his talk he will question common strategies used in Deep Learning, talk about novel trends in the field and give some examples of applications; we expect to hear about current work in his group such as on camera-captured document analysis and how they created the world's best chatbot.

This event follows on the first Luleå Machine Learning meet-up last month which was jointly organised by RISE SICS North, Luleå University of Technology, and Mobilaris. The first event received very positive feedback from participants and was attended by many local industry players.

The meeting is open for anyone interested. Please feel free to invite colleagues and friends that do work related to machine learning.
