Research in Mining and Rock Engineering

Published: 27 June 2011

Our research can be grouped into four areas: Rock Mechanics, Rock Engineering, Blasting and rock.

The research has applications in both the construction industry as mining. Within the research field there are two centers, CBM (Aggregates) and Swebrec (blasting). Research in the four areas can be described as follows:

Rock Mechanics

  • Numerical Analysis
  • Experimental Rock Mechanics - Laboratory-based and field-based

with application to:

  • Tunnels
  1. Drifting
  2. Fire in tunnels
  3. Icing
  • Mines
  1. Mining at great depths
  2. Rock reinforcement
  3. Land Subsidence due to mining

Rock Technology

  • Drifting
  • Mining production
  • Mining at great depths

  • Research in this area Aggregates on Mountain material mechanical and technological properties (selection of application, classification of rock, different minerals important for the properties). "

Blasting Technique

  • Blasting Technology - fragmentation mechanisms
  • Detonik - detonation process
