There is research in a number of areas with cross-pollination between areas, but in terms of specific research project and researchers involved. Research is characterized by cooperation over geographic, institutional and discipline boundaries. In several of the research areas, the Economics Unit has strong collaboration with political science, jurisprudence and history of technology as well as with many engineering subjects such as energy science, geosciences and environmental engineering.
The subject's long-term ambition is to become one of the best natural resource, environmental and energy economics research environments in Europe. Successful recruitments are essential for successfully achieving this and the aim is always to attract the very best researchers.
Paramount to the Unit’s strategy is that the research produced at the Unit is of outstanding quality with emphasis on publications in leading peer-reviewed journals within the areas of research. Books and other publications are also regularly produced.
