Åsa Lindman – Teacher of the Year

Published: 31 May 2016

Teacher of the Year 2016 is Åsa Lindman, a Postdoctoral researcher in Economics. – It feels great! I am very happy and value it very high, says Åsa Lindman.

Åsa Lindman mainly teaches in various courses in microeconomics and supervise theses.

Why do you think that you won?

– I really like economics and to teach.

Can you describe yourself as a teacher?

– I am accurate and have high demands. I try to be open and encourage questions. I like to provoke in order to get the students to question different ways of thinking, and encourage discussions. I want everyone to understand and I see if the students look like question marks. If so, I try to explain in a different way or give another example. It's a challenge and it's great to see when a student gets an eye-opener, because I see when that happens, even if we are in a hall with perhaps 150-200 students. I see a lot more than they think.
