Plenary Speakers
"Damage and strength predictions of 3D woven composite structures: experimental characterization, size effect and modelling."
By Frédéric Laurin who is a Research engineer at Onera, the French aerospace laboratory, head of the research unit "Characterization and Modelling of Composite Materials". His research is in the field of damage and failure modelling of composite materials.

“Unconventional Experimental Approaches to Investigate the Compressive Behaviour of Carbon Fibre Composites.”
By Michael Wisnom who is Professor of Aerospace Structures at the University of Bristol, Director of Bristol Composites Institute (ACCIS) and Editor in Chief of Composites Part A. His research is on the mechanics and failure of composites: developing novel test configurations, analysis approaches and material architectures.

“Testing and modelling of NCF and thin ply composites during impact, crash and triaxial loading.”
By Dr Robin Olsson who currently leads the Technology Platform Structural Design at RISE SICOMP. He also leads several research projects on damage initiation and growth in NCF composites during crash and impact, currently involving three PhD students. Previously he has been Senior Lecturer at the Department of Aeronautics at Imperial College London, and researcher at the Aeronautical Research Institute of Sweden, with main focus on impact response and damage tolerance of composites.
