Nanosatellite/Robot Teams for the Exploration of Small Solar System Bodies

This reserach targets the development the technology and mission architecture for utilizing a hybrid team of nanosatellites/robots for in-situ exploration of small Solar System bodies, such as asteroids and comets, in the low-gravity environments and unknown terrains. Conceptual and detailed designs and analyses are performed for the hardware platforms, and a scalable, hierarchical control system is developed with dynamically distributed processing capabilities.
