Excursion by bus to the Arctic Circle, via the Great River Rapid of "Storforsen"
We are happy to offer a tour by bus to the Arctic Circle in the evening of Wednesday May 30, after the end of the conference programme
17:30 Departure from Luleå
With its average water flow of 250 m3 / sec and the fall height of 60 m, Storforsen is one of the largest rapids in Europe. It is Europe's largest unregulated front where the total length of the whole range, from start to finish, is 5 km with a total fall height of 82 m.
The Northern Arctic Circle is the ultimate place - from the North Pole - where the sun does not go down at summer solstice and does not go up at the winter solstice.
We make a stop for a drink and appetizers and all participants get their own diploma for crossing the Arctic Circle.
A delicious dinner with specialities from the north is served in a typical Lappish tipi, followed by coffee and cake.
At approx 23:30 we are back in Luleå.
