New LDV-system granted by the Kempe-foundation

Published: 6 December 2010

The division has of the Kempe foundation been granted 1500 kSEK for a new Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV) system to upgrade the Fluid Mechanics Laser laboratory. The laboratory consists today of three equipments based on laser technology: PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry), microPIV and LDV. Alls systems are frequently used to characterize the flow of liquids and gases in different applications.

A very important component in our research is a well-functioning laboratory, says Professor Staffan Lundström. - With the new LDV-system the Divisions and LTUs position will improve considerably, Staffan continues. - The new system will be technically superior to the existing one and it will be more stimulating and convenient to work with. I therefore anticipate even better results within research and education than what we achieve today.
