Many presentation on EFMC-9 in Rome

Published: 21 September 2012

Fluid mechanics featured 11 papers on the Euromech Conference "European Fluid Mechanical Conference 9" in Rome 9 to 13 September 2012. Regarding general trends on the conference the dynamics of droplets was treated in relatively many presentations. Different kinds of three-dimensional measurements is also a trend, as well as new methodologies to simulate flows.

Our presentations:

  • The dynamics of a solid cylinder immersed in circular Couette flow
  • Modelling particulate flow During composites manufacturing
  • Modelling and validation of flow over a wall with large surface roughness
  • Derivation of dispersion coefficients in large random arrays of spheres and cylinders
  • Experimental investigation of transition from laminar to turbulent flow in porous media
  • Deposition of submicron charged spherical particles in the trachea of the human airways
  • Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics Modeling of a Hydraulic Jump
  • μPIV measurements of lubricating grease flow in channel with two types of restrictions
  • PIV analysis of Merging Flow in a Simplified Model of a Rotary Kiln
  • A numerical study of the flow near the smolt guidance devices for Increased fish migration
  • Modelling forced convective drying of iron ore pellets
