Weathered waste rock under changing chemical conditions

Published: 28 November 2016

In this project laboratory-scale column experiments on previously weathered, sulfide-containing waste rock are carried out under changing chemical conditions, as relevant to the prevention methods studied in the larger StopOx project.

The changes in mineralogy and water quality, including potential mobilization of metal(loid)s from weathered mine waste, will be evaluated upon transition from oxic to anoxic conditions and addition of industrial residues.
