In his thesis, Daniel investigated how the inclusion of grate inlets can affect the results of coupled flood models while also testing the modeling programs Mike Urban and FLO-2D. It is common practice to simplify coupled flood models by connecting the surface and sewer at manholes while excluding grate inlets. Therefore, the thesis contributed with important knowledge to improve the understanding of coupled flood models.
Daniel continued his professional career in the water sector and is now working as stormwater consultant at Sweco in Gothenburg.
