On 15-16 January, a kickoff took place with all DRIZZLE’s partners. More than fifty participants from 10 different organizations met lunch-to-lunch in Stockholm, to get to know each other, to get a common view of what to do together, and to start the joint work in DRIZZLE.

Lena Eckerdal Rimsten, responsible for Vinnova’s competence centre programme, initiated the first day. She presented Vinnova’s expectations on the projects that they have co-financed, including DRIZZLE. Then Maria Viklander, DRIZZLE's centre director, presented what we have promised to do together, i.e. excellent research within three areas: 1) stormwater quality, 2) stormwater quantity, and 3) the quality / quantity combination. Thereafter, Paula Wennberg, LTU, reported on the importance of gender integration in research projects, as well as reported what we have promised on this in DRIZZLE.

Thereafter, representatives from the participating parties were to present their interests and efforts in DRIZZLE. After that, a collaboration workshop took place, where all participants e.g., discussed how to organize the joint work within DRIZZLE. The day ended with a common dinner.

Since stormwater challenges related to Riddarfjärden, Stockholm will be used as the starting point for some of the research within DRIZZLE, the second day began with a workshop about this, led by Tyréns. Tyréns presented its ongoing work with the local action programme for Riddarfjärden. After that, Stockholm City told about its work with Rålambshov Park. Thereafter, the participants worked in smaller groups to come up with suggestions on possible stormwater solutions in connection with Riddarfjärden; to specify the conditions for realization; and to identify possible research questions. The work is summarized in a report available for download here.
