ICUD is recognized as the most important international event in the urban drainage field. It aims to present the latest results and innovative approaches in urban drainage research. Fifteen researchers from Stormwater&Sewers participated in ICUD 2021, whereas eight of them as speakers who presented their latest results.
Godecke Blecken talked about ‘blue-green-white’ infrastructures introducing the developments in blue-green infrastructures in cold climates. Hendrik Rujner presented a comparison of spatial interpolation methods for soil moisture in green stormwater infrastructure. Haoyu Wei showed findings on temporal trends in the occurrence and composition of PAHs in gully pot sediments. Alexandra Müller introduced a comparison of three methods for identifying building surface materials as sources of stormwater pollution. Pär Öhrn Sagrelius revealed the environmental impacts of stormwater bioretention systems with various construction components. Ali Beryani presented his study of intra-event dynamics of removing organic micro-pollutants in a stormwater treatment train with gross pollutant trap (GPT) and biofilter. Katharina Lange presented how effectively a stormwater treatment train with GPT and bioretention can treat microplastics and Lian Lundy presented a decision support system for prioritising highway runoff treatment options.
In addition, Godecke Blecken, Alexandra Müller and Lian Lundy were chairman for in total four sessions.
Besides, the participants benefited from various online workshop meetings with other universities to share their knowledge implementations between the main sessions.
