Sustainability assessment of urban drainage solutions

Our cities and receiving water priorities have changed and so should also our perception of gully pots. As our cities evolve to achieve sustainability, we need to gain a better understanding of the performance and impacts of gully pots to ensure their role within wider sustainable drainage strategies is evidence-based.
Stormwater is an important transport pathway for pollutants in the urban environment and contributes to the deterioration of urban receiving water quality. Metallic building surfaces and atmospheric deposition, as well as activities related to transportation, industries and construction, are among those early identified as important sources.
