New master programme in Water and Environmental Engineering
Luleå University of Technology will offer a new master programme giving its students solid knowledge and skills to work with the major challenges that the water sector is facing now and in the future.
The programme is about building to avoid floodings and reduce the pollution load on the recipients, how sewage management can be made more resource efficient, how the water supply should be secured in the long run and how best to work to upgrade the aging infrastructure.
As a student, you will be able to specialize in urban water management and climate adaptation or in resource use and circular economy. It is also possible to study both specializations or broaden the education towards, for example, the environment, waste management and contaminated land.
Within the framework of the program, a three-month internship period is included, and here we wish to collaborate with the water industry's stakeholders to create functional and educational internships. The programme also opens up for the global labor market and raises issues related to e.g. water supply and wastewater management in developing countries.
