In June, a digital visit by researchers from the Stormwater&Sewers group at Luleå University of Technology to Östersund municipality was arranged. The event focused on stormwater and was much appreciated by the participants of the municipality's newly formed stormwater group consisting of representatives from several departments including Water & Waste, Streets, Environment & Public Health and Planning & Development.
The stormwater group has been created with the aim of getting a holistic approach to the stormwater problem and for several of the representatives it was interesting to gain new knowledge as Stormwater&Sewers gave some short lectures on joint research projects as well as results that emerged through the collaboration between the municipality and the research group at Luleå University of Technology.
But most appreciated was the discussions after the lectures where, among other things, the work on Östersund's stormwater strategy was discussed. With very little efforts, the day resulted in several Aha! moments and gave new inspiration and energy for continued work.
