Nordiwa 2021 online
This year, the annual NORDIWA conference was held on-line from 28 September to 1 October. A total of 200 presentations, five workshops and a digital exhibition were arranged in five parallel sessions. Optionally, the recorded lectures could also be watched afterwards. The speakers ranged from researchers to stakeholders from the water sector.
Stormwater&Sewers was represented by, among others, Arya Vijayan, who presented her work on tyre and road wear particles in roadside snow embankments and Saida Kaykhaii who spoke about her studies of the usefulness of sedimentation and membrane filtration for stormwater treatment. Lisa Öborn presented results from a laboratory study on the degradation of commonly used plastic debris into microplastics that can then be spread via stormwater, while Nikita Razguliaev gave an overview of continuous monitoring techniques for stormwater quality. Ivan Mantilla talked about green infrastructure and its variability in hydrological performance in the different climatic conditions that prevail in Sweden. Robert Furén talked about bioretention filters and occurrence as well as concentrations of organic micropollutants in filter media.
