Water Sewerage Cycle 2021 conference

Published: 31 March 2021

The annual VAK conference went online this year, March 17-18. The program was at least as extensive as in previous years, with the difference that some of the sessions were pre-recorded.

Annelie Hedström, Stormwater&Sewers, held a presentation about what is going on in urban water research these days and also did a trendspotting of what will become more important in the future. Energy efficiency and CO2 emissions were highlighted as aspects that we will need to take into account more in the future. However, in order to implement the truly energy and resource-efficient solutions, both legislation needs to change and we need to create solutions that expand over different system boundaries to a greater extent than we do today. Inga Herrmann, LTU, gave a presentation focusing on the function, supervision and sustainability of small sewers and related to research conducted at LTU.
