International research conference on Active school transport
For two days, a cross-professional conference with researchers and doctoral students has been held at Luleå University of Technology.
"After these days, we can state that here at Luleå University of Technology we are actually a world leader when it comes to research on children's active school transport with a promotional perspective," says Anna-Karin Lindqvist, associate professor of physiotherapy.
"The usual is to focus on barriers and problems, but we have instead chosen to focus on opportunities and solutions, which means that you ask completely different questions and add ground-breaking knowledge that can be of global benefit to society," she says.
Intense days
During the conference, both the current state of research and plans for future research in the field were discussed.
"It has been incredibly intense and rewarding days. The questions require many research areas to contribute their expertise to move the research front forward and we are so happy to have been able to gather this dream team in our project", says Stina Rutberg.
The conference was arranged within the framework of Vinnova-financed projects on 29 and 30 August 2022.
