CRESCENDO Enterprise Collaboration Capabilities meeting in Luleå

2010-09: On September 28th-30th the Division of Functional Product Development hosted the fourth EU FP7 CRESCENDO WP5.5 physical meeting. Pär Johansson, Christian Johansson, Marco Bertoni, Henrik Nergård, Johan Wenngren and Johan Holmqvist have welcomed in Luleå representatives from Volvo Aero, Eurostep, Alenia Aeronautica, EADS, SNECMA UNINOVA and ENGS.

WP5.5 is one of the 27 Work Packages in CRESCENDO (Collaborative and Robust Engineering using Simulation Capability Enabling Next Design Optimisation) which aim at addressing the 2020 vision for the European aeronautical industry, developing the foundations for the Behavioral Digital Aircraft (BDA).

The role and objectives of the work package are to deliver all the enterprise collaboration services necessary for the BDA components enable more effective and trustworthy decision-making by: 1) developing collaborative decision-making capabilities, to enable conscious decisions in an extended enterprise context, where large numbers of partners with a multitude of skills participate; 2) develop information sharing capabilities, to share complex data over heterogeneous environments from different partners, where many functions need to be shared and mastered due to the global business contexts of today; 3) develop knowledge sharing capabilities, to ensure that all partners in an extended enterprise environment contribute with skills, while ensuring intellectual rights and ownership are protected.
