How are we affected by effective priming

Published: 2 May 2018

How can a facial expression affect a subsequent decision?

HandDaniel Sundberg studies neurological aspects of affective priming, for his C-essay for bachelor's degree in Psychology.

More specifically, I am working on designing an experiment to study effective priming with ERP (event-related potentials). The study itself is to investigate whether exposure to happy facial expression can give rise to a priming effect on the brain's neurological processes, as compared to exposure to neutral facial expression.

No cognitive task is performed by the subjects, since the interest lies in the brain's neurological response to affective stimuli. For the study, I will first use the EEG equipment for ERP measurements, but will also use Eye Tracking and Face Recognition to more easily find sources of error in the results.
