Personal description

I was born in Baghdad and I lived in Babylon/ Iraq.

I have B.Sc. in Civil Engineering and M. Sc. In Construction Materials from Babylon University, Iraq. I worked as field engineer for 3 years after graduation. My career continued at Babylon University as a lecturer and laboratory personal in the department of civil engineering

Since September 2015 I started my studying with structural engenering division according to a PhD scholarship financed by the Iraqi government. The main topic of my research is Geopolymer Concrete or Alkali Activated concrete.

Research interests

  • Geopolymer Concrete or Alkali Activated concrete is an innovative construction material that can be produced by total replacement of cement with other materials. The most common materials used for geopolymers are by-product materials like slag, fly ash and rice husk ash or by using pozzolanic materials which are the source of alumino-silicate. Geopolymer concrete is gaining more attentiveness for its low CO2 -emission, it releases 80% less CO2 during production than Portland cement.
  • I am also interest in concrete admixtures to improve the properties of concrete, Nano fibres and sustainability
