I defended my PhD dissertation on the topic of decision makers’ use of analogical reasoning in unstructured problematic situations in 1998 and became professor of accounting and control in 2011. Since then I have studied risk assessment among bank officers and auditors and management accounting, information technology and performance in manufacturing. In recent years, I have supervised doctoral students in research about controller work in strategic capital investment projects and management accounting for operations in the mining corporation LKAB. I also participate in Business Index North, a project aiming to contribute to sustainable development and value creation in the Arctic through the mapping of regional economic development, opportunities and challenges.
