About me
Elin Ruth is PhD student in English and Education. She started her PhD studies in October 2021 and is part of the doctoral school PROFS (Practice-based Educational Research). Elin has a master’s degree in education and has previously worked as a lecturer at Luleå University of Technology. Moreover, she has experience in teaching English to adult learners.
Elin’s thesis project explores how collaborative writing in English could be beneficial to language learning in school years 4–6 (pupils aged 10–12). This includes pupils’ oral as well as written interaction when writing texts together with their peers. The study will be conducted in collaboration with in-service English teachers.
In addition to her PhD studies, Elin teaches English courses within the teacher-training programmes and stand-alone courses, such as Creative Writing in English. Elin has also contributed to developing tailor-made in-service educational courses, for example Business English.
Elin is a member of the Swedish Society for the Study of English (SWESSE), the Swedish Association for Applied Linguistics (ASLA) and the Swedish Language Teachers' Society.
