Biography

Georgios Andrikopoulos was born in Patras, Greece, in 1986. He received his Ph.D degree in the field of pneumatic artificial muscle technology from the University of Patras in 2015. He is currently working as a post-doctoral researcher with the Department of Computer Science, Electrical and Space Engineering at the Luleå University of Technology, Sweden. His research interests are mainly focused on the development of biomimetic and medical robotic systems via the use of soft pneumatic actuators, as well as robotic solutions for inspection purposes. He has been involved in a number of European and National projects on biorobotics, inspection and industrial robotics including the H2020 FETOPEN RIA “CompInnova” (2015-Present), the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) “BAHRT” (2015-Present) and the NSRF “ATLANTAS” (2013-2015). He has served as a reviewer for several international journals and conferences and he is a member of IEEE, CSS, RAS, IES, SPS.
