My research has been focusing on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainable business. In my doctoral thesis I studied how the extractive industry in general and the mining industry in particular, practice CSR and how this work can be developed. I have developed guidelines for the Nordic mining industry's sustainability practice. I have also conducted research within stakeholder management, materiality analysis and sustainability management system (SMS) for social acceptance which based on stakeholder dialogue creates, implements, evaluates and develops sustainable processes along the entire value chain.
I teach environmental management that involves different types of environmental tools such as environmental management systems, life cycle assessment and environmental labels, but also sustainable development and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
