Christian Holmberg Sjöling is a PhD student in English and Education and a part of the doctoral school PROFS (Practice-based Educational Research) at the Department of Health, Education and Technology at Luleå University of Technology. He started his PhD studies in January 2022.
Christian’s project is concerned with the assessment of Swedish upper secondary school students’ written vocabulary production with a particular focus on lexical richness and the national tests. His thesis will, amongst other things, investigate the lexical richness of the example texts produced by the Swedish National Agency for Education as a part of their instructions for assessment of the national tests.
He also teaches English courses within the teacher-training programme and stand-alone English language courses. Other than that, one may gladly contact Christian with anything related to collocations, lexical bundles, corpus linguistics or second language acquisition as these are other areas that interest him.
Christian is a member of The Swedish Society for the Study of English (SWESSE) and chairperson of the PhD Student Association at Luleå University of Technology.
