Jiri Marsalek is an adjunct professor in the LTU's urban water group. He supports the group's research on stormwater quality and treatment.

His substantive position is that of a research scientist at Environment Canada, Burlington, ON, Canada.

Among other achievements, Jiri Marsalek holds a Honorary Doctorate (PhD h.c.) from LTU for his contributions to scientific and engineering advances in urban water management (2006).
