Mehwish Taneez
Luleå University of Technology
Mehwish Taneez works on the release, transport and fate of diffuse pollutants in the urban environment. To inform the selection of treatment options, knowledge of pollutant mobility, partitioning and toxicity is important. Her initial research involves assessing the interactions between drainage pipe materials and stormwater from various sources, and how this varies in relation to pipe type and age. Mehwish will also investigate how variations in stormwater storage conditions influences a range of stormwater quality parameters including the partitioning of metals.
Mehwish has a PhD degree in Environmental Science from Université Côte d'Azur, France. Previously, she worked on the management of metal contaminated marine dredged sediments in landfill storage context, leachate ecotoxicity, microplastics in the freshwater environment and their interactions with metals.
